On July 9, 2026, the press conference for the 18th China (Beijing) International Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines and Mining Machines Exhibition (BICES 2027) was held in Beijing. At the press conference, Zhou Weidong, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Machinery Sub-Council (CCPIT Machinery Sub-Council), delivered a keynote speech titled “Building an International Exchange Platform to Support Construction Machinery Enterprises in Expanding Domestic and Overseas Markets.” The following is the main content of his speech:
With the vitality of midsummer opening a new journey and collective efforts creating a new chapter, we gather once again in Beijing to officially launch the 18th China (Beijing) International Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines and Mining Machines Exhibition (BICES 2027). As one of the organizers of BICES, I would like, on behalf of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Machinery Sub-Council, to extend my warmest welcome and sincere appreciation to all distinguished guests, partners and friends from all sectors who have attended this press conference and who have long cared about and supported the development of China's construction machinery industry.
Since its establishment in 1989, BICES has gone through more than three decades of development. As an influential international event for China's construction machinery industry, it has not only witnessed the technological progress of China's equipment manufacturing industry, but also promoted exchange and cooperation across the global construction machinery industrial and supply chains.
With the theme “Green Intelligence Leads, Excellence Shared,” BICES 2027 will bring together more than one thousand exhibitors and industry organizations from around the world to comprehensively showcase innovative achievements in the green development, digital intelligence and internationalization of the construction machinery industry. At the key historical stage when China is embarking on the 15th Five-Year Plan, the holding of BICES 2027 is timely and of great significance.
For nearly four decades, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Machinery Sub-Council has always upheld the mission of serving economic development and serving enterprise growth, and has been committed to building high-level international exchange and cooperation platforms to promote the development of China's machinery industry. Therefore, during the preparation and operation of BICES 2027, we will focus on the following tasks.
Continue to strengthen exhibition recruitment, especially the recruitment of small and medium-sized enterprises. Small and medium-sized enterprises are an important foundation of manufacturing development and have always been a key focus of CCPIT Machinery Sub-Council's services. Over the years, under the guidance of CCPIT Machinery Sub-Council, we have organized enterprises to participate in international professional exhibitions and explore domestic and overseas markets, playing a positive role in promoting the international development of China's machinery industry. For BICES 2027, we will continue to leverage our advantages in exhibition organization, strengthen promotion and recruitment efforts among SMEs, and enable more small and medium-sized enterprises to gain greater benefits through the BICES platform.
Continue to organize the Conference on Green Development through Construction Machinery Electrification. During BICES 2025, with the support of the China Construction Machinery Industry Association (CCMA) and China Construction Machinery Complete Set Co., Ltd., CCPIT Machinery Sub-Council successfully organized the Conference on Green Development through Construction Machinery Electrification. During BICES 2027, we will continue to organize this conference, build consensus on green development across the industry, accurately facilitate exchange and cooperation between upstream and downstream enterprises, and inject strong momentum into the electrification and green development of the construction machinery industry.
Fully leverage CCPIT resources to promote policies and international rules for enterprises expanding overseas markets. To encourage enterprises to explore international markets, China has introduced a series of supportive policies to facilitate enterprises' global expansion. Meanwhile, China has signed trade agreements with relevant countries and international organizations, reducing export barriers and creating favorable conditions for enterprises to enter international markets. Through the BICES platform, we will organize relevant experts to introduce and interpret applicable policies and international trade rules for exhibitors, helping enterprises achieve smoother overseas expansion.
Fully leverage the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Resolution Center jointly established by CCPIT Machinery Sub-Council and international organizations to provide enterprises with prevention and resolution solutions for international economic and trade disputes. With the continuous increase in the number of Chinese enterprises engaged in international trade and overseas investment, disputes arising during trade and investment activities have also been increasing. To help enterprises better prevent and address risks and challenges encountered in the process of going global, during BICES 2027, CCPIT Machinery Sub-Council will jointly organize a special conference with the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Resolution Organization (ICDPASO) to introduce how enterprises can strengthen risk prevention and control before signing contracts and during contract performance. We will also gradually integrate high-quality domestic and international legal service resources, establish a unified channel for dispute resolution, and safeguard the high-quality international development of Chinese machinery enterprises.
Continue to organize visits for diplomatic missions and international organizations in China. During the opening period of BICES 2025, we invited more than 40 representatives from foreign embassies and international organizations in China to visit the exhibition, and organized a special conference on the development of China's construction machinery industry. Through these activities, diplomatic envoys and representatives of international organizations gained a more comprehensive and systematic understanding of China's construction machinery industry and the BICES exhibition. During BICES 2027, we will continue to invite embassies and overseas organizations to visit the exhibition, and help promote the remarkable achievements of China's construction machinery industry to the world through these channels.
At present, facing the profound adjustment of global industrial and supply chains, we need to strengthen communication, enhance mutual trust and deepen cooperation more than ever before. Through BICES, we hope to further promote practical cooperation between Chinese and foreign enterprises in technological innovation, green transformation and market expansion, jointly maintain the stability and smooth operation of the global machinery industrial chain, foster new quality productive forces, and inject Chinese momentum into the high-quality development of the global construction machinery industry.
