BICES 2027 Press Conference Convened in Beijing

On July 9, 2026, the Press Conference for the 18th China (Beijing) International Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines and Mining Machines Exhibition (BICES 2027) was convened in Beijing. The event was attended by Su Zimeng, Chairman of China Construction Machinery Association (CCMA); Wu Peiguo, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of CCMA; Li Jianyou, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of CCMA and Deputy Director of the CCMA Expert Committee; Wang Chuanming, Chairman of China Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. (CNCMC); Zhou Weidong, Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade - Machinery Sub-Council (CCPIT-MSC); Lv Ying, Deputy Secretary-General of CCMA and General Manager of Beijing Asiamachine International Convention & Exhibition Ltd. (EEB), BGRIMM Technology Group, CRCC Capital Holding Group Co., Ltd. and the Road & Bridge Branch of Beijing Urban Construction Huasheng Company; representatives from the China Association of Chemical Engineering Construction(CACEC), China Electric Power Construction Association(CEPCA), China Construction Industry Association (CCIA) and the Hoisting Professional Committee of China Metallurgical Construction Association(CMCA); as well as representatives from Xinhua News Agency, People's Daily Online, China News Service, China Daily, Economic Daily, Guangming Daily, China Trade News, International Business Daily, China Industry News, China Mining News, China Construction News, numerous construction machinery trade media and several CCMA branches, with more than 100 participants attending the press conference. The event was chaired by Wu Peiguo, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of CCMA.

 

Su Zimeng, Chairman of CCMA, delivered a keynote address on the Analysis of the Construction Machinery Industry Performance Since 2026 and Current Key Tasks

In his address, Su Zimeng noted that the convening of the press conference marked the official launch of all preparations for BICES 2027, a premier international trade exhibition for the construction machinery industry to be held in China. On behalf of the organizers, he expressed his sincere appreciation to all participants, relevant government authorities, exhibitors, users and media representatives for their longstanding support of BICES. He also extended a warm welcome and cordial invitation to friends from around the world to exhibit, visit the exhibition, engage in exchanges and explore cooperation at BICES 2027.

Su Zimeng then reviewed the performance of the construction machinery industry since the beginning of 2026. He pointed out that the industry's major economic indicators had remained stable, exports had continued to grow, and internationalization had advanced steadily. Meanwhile, new energy construction machinery maintained strong growth momentum. The industry's core capabilities continued to strengthen, while the modernization of the industrial chain was further enhanced. In addition, a new batch of major technical equipment had been introduced to the market, effectively meeting the demands of major engineering projects.

In his assessment of the industry's outlook, Su Zimeng stated that, with continued social progress, the accelerated adoption of machine replacement and the rapid application of new-generation technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), the application of construction machinery would continue to expand, creating promising prospects for the industry's future development. He noted that robust domestic demand would provide broad market opportunities for construction machinery, while its advantages in international markets would continue to strengthen. He projected that China's construction machinery industry would maintain steady growth throughout 2026 and 2027.

Regarding the industry's current priorities, Su Zimeng highlighted six key tasks: fully implementing the guiding principles of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the annual sessions of the National People's Congress (NPC), and achieving the goals and tasks set out in the 15th Five-Year Development Plan for the construction machinery industry with high quality; making concerted efforts to address bottlenecks in core technologies and the industrial chain by focusing on high-end core components, control systems and software, large AI models and other key areas, while promoting collaborative innovation among industry, academia, research institutes and end users; accelerating the development and application of green construction machinery, advancing the industrialization of low-carbon technologies such as electrification, hydrogen energy and hybrid power, and enhancing the independent and controllable capabilities of the industrial chain; stepping up the R&D and application of intelligent construction machinery, establishing demand-oriented intelligent grading standards, and promoting unmanned operation and remote-control technologies; actively responding to the Belt and Road Initiative by improving overseas marketing, service and manufacturing networks, effectively addressing international trade frictions and technical barriers, promoting the alignment of industry standards with international standards, and fostering a global presence that is high-quality, secure, internationally competitive and sustainable; and opposing excessive price-driven competition to safeguard a sound and orderly market environment for the construction machinery industry.

In his concluding remarks, Su Zimeng stated that, while the construction machinery industry had made remarkable achievements in advancing high-quality development, it was also facing significant challenges. He emphasized that CCMA would further strengthen its role in guiding the industry's development and regulating industry practices. He once again extended a warm welcome and sincere invitation to exhibitors, users, media representatives, visitors and friends from all sectors, both in China and around the world, to actively follow and participate in BICES 2027 and share the latest achievements in the development of the construction machinery industry.

Wang Chuanming, Chairman of CNCMC, delivered a keynote address titled Pooling Resources, Strengthening Collaboration and Delivering Results to Promote the High-Quality Development of BICES 2027.

In his address, Wang Chuanming stated that CNCMC would leverage the strengths of a central state-owned enterprise to contribute to the successful organization of BICES 2027 by focusing on three key priorities: pooling resources, strengthening collaboration and delivering tangible results. At the previous edition of BICES, CNCMC launched the innovative "CNCMC Attachments Camp", bringing together resources across the industrial chain to address long-standing bottlenecks in upstream and downstream collaboration within the attachments sector. Through live equipment demonstrations and targeted business matchmaking, the feature area highlighted the diversified, customized and application-specific value of attachment products, making it one of the exhibition's signature attractions. At BICES 2027, the Attachments Camp will be comprehensively upgraded, with a focus on the integrated application of new energy and intelligent equipment, while serving as a long-term platform for industrial collaboration.

Wang Chuanming further noted that CNCMC would leverage the integrated industrial chain resources and global business network of Sinomach to facilitate the international expansion of Chinese-made equipment and integrated engineering solutions, thereby enhancing the global competitiveness of the industry. It would also work closely with major central state-owned engineering enterprises to organize professional visitor delegations to BICES 2027. In addition, through the CCMA Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Service Committee, CNCMC would further upgrade the dedicated exhibition area for specialized, sophisticated SMEs producing new and unique products, providing broader opportunities for product showcase and business matchmaking. He concluded by expressing his expectation of joining hands with all industry partners to make BICES 2027 a premier international event with global influence.

Zhou Weidong, Chairman of CCPIT-MSC, delivered a keynote address titled Join Hands to Build International Exchange Platforms, Support Construction Machinery Enterprises to Expand Domestic and Overseas Markets.

In his address, Zhou Weidong stated that CCPIT-MSC would continue to strengthen exhibitor recruitment for BICES 2027, with a particular focus on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs); continue to host the Conference on Green Development of Construction Machinery Electrification; leverage its trade promotion resources to provide enterprises expanding overseas with policy guidance and greater awareness of international trade rules; make full use of the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Center, jointly established with international organizations, to provide services for the prevention and resolution of international commercial disputes; and continue organizing visiting delegations from foreign embassies in China and international organizations. He expressed his commitment to supporting the high-quality organization of BICES 2027 and helping construction machinery enterprises expand both domestic and international markets through these five key initiatives.

Zhou Weidong expressed his hope that BICES would serve as a platform for in-depth exchanges and practical cooperation between Chinese and international enterprises in technological innovation, green transformation and market expansion. He also expressed the hope that, through such cooperation, all parties would work together to safeguard the stability and smooth operation of the global machinery industry supply chain, foster new quality productive forces, and contribute China's strengths to the high-quality development of the global construction machinery industry.

Lv Ying, Deputy Secretary-General of CCMA and General Manager of BAICE, delivered a presentation titled Preparations for BICES 2027

In his presentation, Lv Ying stated that, against the irreversible trend of the construction machinery industry toward intelligence, green development, integration and accelerated globalization, BICES 2027 will be positioned as the premier global platform for the debut of the latest green and intelligent products. The exhibition will be carefully organized to comprehensively showcase the latest technological innovations and application achievements from the global construction machinery industry, particularly those from China, over the past two years. Centered on the development trends of high-end, intelligent and integrated manufacturing, as well as the national dual-carbon strategy and the cultivation of new quality productive forces, BICES 2027 will be held under the theme “Green Intelligence Leads the Future, Sharing a Better World” from September 22 to 25, 2027 at the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Venue) in Beijing. The exhibition will feature dedicated Professional Visitor Days and Public Open Days, together with four themed indoor exhibition halls—Digital Intelligence & Green Mobility: Low-Carbon Technology and Equipment Hall, Smart High-End Equipment Hall, High-Efficiency, Energy-Saving & Green Intelligent Supply Chain Hall, and Green Intelligent Connectivity & Logistics Robotics Hall—as well as an outdoor comprehensive demonstration area highlighting intelligent, green, integrated and application-oriented solutions.

Lv Ying pointed out that BICES has always remained committed to serving the industry and creating value for exhibitors. Despite rising operating costs, booth rental rates for BICES 2027 will remain unchanged, while exhibitors completing registration and payment by December 25, 2026 will continue to enjoy a 5% early-bird discount, with booth allocation coordinated accordingly. He added that BICES 2027 will comprehensively upgrade its concurrent events by focusing on key industry topics, organizing more business matchmaking meetings between exhibitors and users, forward-looking technology exchange activities and supply-demand matchmaking programs. The exhibition will also establish a multi-tiered visitor promotion system covering the entire industrial chain, further strengthen international promotion, visitor invitation and reception services, enhance the organization of key domestic users and professional visitors, and expand new media communication channels with richer promotional content.

Li Jianyou, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of CCMA and Deputy Director of the CCMA Expert Committee, delivered a keynote address titled Integrating Green and Intelligent Technologies to Drive Industrial Upgrading and Advance Low-Carbon Development

In his address, Li Jianyou stated that, as a premier construction machinery exhibition based in Beijing, serving the whole of China and connecting the global industry, BICES has consistently evolved in line with national industrial policies and the latest industry trends, taking the lead in initiatives such as establishing a dedicated green and low-carbon exhibition area. The upgraded BICES 2027 will closely align with the goals of the Dual Carbon strategy, new industrialization and the development of new quality productive forces, with a strong focus on the integrated development of green and intelligent technologies. It will serve as a comprehensive industry platform integrating policy interpretation, technology showcase, business matchmaking and standards collaboration.

Li Jianyou pointed out that electrification alone would not be sufficient to support the long-term development of the industry, and that the deep integration of green and intelligent technologies had become a key driver for fostering new quality productive forces. He further explained that BICES 2027 would deliver four key values to the industry by supporting the establishment of unified evaluation standards for green and intelligent equipment, accelerating the replacement of outdated high-energy-consuming equipment to strengthen the foundation for green development, promoting the wider adoption of cost-effective green and intelligent equipment to reduce operating costs, and showcasing China's independently developed green and intelligent technologies to enhance the international competitiveness of the industry. He added that the Organizing Committee would continue to advance exhibitor recruitment, visitor promotion and concurrent event planning in an orderly manner, with the goal of building BICES 2027 into a benchmark exhibition for the industry. By facilitating the application of low-carbon and intelligent technologies, improving the industry's innovation ecosystem, and supporting high-quality development, BICES 2027 will contribute to the implementation of the Dual Carbon strategy and the advancement of new industrialization.
